Introduction:

Carleton University recognized the need to support students in maintaining a healthy balance between academics, work, and personal life. In partnership with Studiosity, Carleton University embarked on a journey to improve student wellbeing and academic achievement by leveraging the power of Studioisty’s online support services. 

This case study showcases how Studiosity's comprehensive platform positively impacted Carleton University's student community. In collaboration with Liz Thomas Associates, an independent research agency, Studiosity undertook a comprehensive study to assess the impact of its services on student wellbeing and academic performance. Liz Thomas Associates conducted a survey among Carleton University students, collecting data on their experience with Studiosity. The findings were analyzed providing valuable insights into Studiosity's impact at Carleton University.

Quality of Studiosity Subject Specialists:
Helpfulness and Support:
  • An overwhelming majority (91.18%) found Studiosity Subject Specialists to be 'Always' or 'Mostly' helpful and supportive.
Clear Feedback and Purpose:
  • 88.24% praised the clear explanation of feedback and 82.35% said they explained the purpose of the service.
Motivation and Relevance:
  • 81.03% felt Studiosity Subject Specialists motivated them to perform their best and worked hard to make feedback relevant (88.24%).
Immediate Benefits of Studiosity:
Empowering Responsibility:
  • 76.47% noted that Subject Specialists encouraged them to take responsibility for their learning.

Application of Feedback:
  • 76.47% said that they could apply at least some of the feedback to future assignments and the majority (70.59%) also felt that Subject Specialists motivated them to apply the feedback.
Motivation and Study Skills:
  • Majority of students reported improved motivation and study skills after using Studiosity.
Increased Willingness to Seek Help:
  • A significant portion (73.53%) agreed that they were more inclined to seek help after using Studiosity.

Reduction in All-Night Study Sessions:
  • 67.65% agreed that the need for all-night study sessions could be reduced if 24/7 study support, like Studiosity, were available after class and once they leave campus.
  • 62.61% of interactions with Studiosity occurred after 5:00PM EST.
Conclusion:

The case study underscores Studiosity's significant impact on Carleton University students, enhancing their wellbeing and academic performance. The data reveals a marked improvement in students' ability to study more effectively and seek help readily. Furthermore, with a 31.51% report rate, students shared a 100% satisfaction rating for their Studiosity service. The partnership between Carleton University and Studiosity shows the positive influence technology-driven student support can have on modern education.
