Introduction:

Continuing their commitment to provide quality education, Athabasca University partnered with Studiosity to provide study help to their students. This case study shows the impact of Studiosity's tools and services on Athabasca University's students, in particular, the quality of Studiosity's Subject Specialists and the positive impact usage had on students.

Quality of Studiosity Subject Specialists:
Helpful and Supportive:
  • An impressive 90% of respondents found Studiosity Subject Specialists to be helpful and supportive. 

Clear Feedback and Purpose:
  • A significant majority, 96.66%, reported that tutors clearly explained feedback, while 93.34% understood the purpose of the service. 

Motivation and Relevance:
  • A noteworthy 86.67% of students indicated that Studiosity tutors motivated them to do their best work, and an even higher percentage, 93.33%, believed the tutors worked hard to make feedback relevant to their needs.
Immediate Benefits of Studiosity:
Empowering Responsibility:
  • A striking 86.67% of students felt encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning, reflecting Studiosity's role in promoting self-directed learning.

Application of Feedback:
  • An impressive 90% of students believed they could apply at least some of the feedback received to future assignments.
Motivation and Study Skills:
  • The majority of students (76.66%) reported that Studiosity had a positive impact on their motivation levels and helped improve their study skills, contributing to more effective learning practices.
Increased Willingness to Seek Help:
  • Significantly, 90% of students agreed that they were now more likely to seek help more readily when faced with academic challenges.

Reduced All-Night Study Sessions:

  • 63.33% of Athabasca students reported studying all night. However, a significant 73.33% agreed that the need for all-night study sessions could be reduced if 24/7 study support, like Studiosity, were available when they finish class or leave campus.
  • 61.43% of interactions occurred after 5PM MST, aligning with the need for extended support
Conclusion:

This case study highlights how Studiosity has significantly contributed to enhancing student wellbeing and study habits at Athabasca University. The majority of students felt that Studiosity had helped with their motivation, developed their study skills, and encouraged them to seek help more readily now that they had used the service. There was a 98.47% satisfaction rating and a 36.09% report rate, which affirms the high level of student satisfaction and engagement. Studiosity has emerged as a valuable tool that promotes a more positive and successful learning journey for students at Athabasca University.
